We hired Luis to take us to our volunteer eye clinics, to help us with logistics and to show us a good time as well. He did all this, and much more as well. In my opinion, he had a formidable task. We were a large group and he had to keep everyone occupied and content. He did this very naturally and always with good humour. Luis is extremely knowledgeable about the country and he possesses a keen sense of observation. Not only was he able to spot hard-to-see animals and plants, but he was also able to observe situations with different people and react accordingly, always with a smile. He saved me and others from leaving things behind on a number of occasions. Luis´s command of English is excellent and it made transactions and conversations much more smooth. He had many stories to tell and he is naturally good at putting people at ease. The recreational activities he chose for us were fun and very appropriate for the group. His bus driver, Alex, also took a lot of pride in his work and was a pleasure to have along for the trip. Most of all, Luis went far beyond his duties in helping us with our eye clinics. Not only did he help with the organizing, but also with translating local´s concerns about their eye problems in terms we could understand. It astounds me that a tour guide could be such an incredible help in a clinical setting. Because of this, I think Luis could easily help with any type of holiday, whether it is a working holiday or just recreational. To me, Luis sets the highest standard for a tour operator.
